Our first environmental program ever will take place on the evening of April 10. The doors to the Museum will open at 6:30 p.m. when refreshments will be served. The “Live Birds of Prey” entertainment will start at 7 p.m. Reservations are required. Call in your reservation to the Coordinator at 978-632-3277. Children and grandchildren are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult.

Tom Ricardi brings his live raptors to the Museum. These birds are from the Massachusetts Bird of Prey Rehabilitation Facility. The primary function of Ricardi’s program is the “care and rehabilitation of birds of prey, for eventual release back to the wild.” Another function of the project is captive breeding, using permanently injured birds that cannot be released as breeding stock. The project has successfully produced offspring for reintroduction to bolster the wild population. Many species such as the bald eagle, kestrel, barn owl, re-tailed hawk and several species of falcon have been bred.

Don’t miss this wonderful slide show and live bird demonstration on April 10. Make reservations today! This exciting programming is supported, in part, by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, as administered by the Gardner Cultural Council.
